Born to parents who were both doctors, R?Maia was one of a litter of five kittens. Sadly her mother endured complications from childbirth and this resulted in her being unable to have more children. R?Maia and her litter mates were close and when she was growing up they were inseparable, having the same friends and interests. But unlike her brothers and sisters, R?Maia had an intense desire to travel and it was early into her teens that she decided that whilst she liked the idea of following in her parents footsteps and becoming a healer, she wanted to see the stars and as soon as she was able she enrolled with Starfleet applying to take the Academy exam and study medicine under their tutelage. It is her first time away from Cait and her first time since she was separated from her litter mates and upon arrival to Starbase Zulu she was desperately lonely and sad even though she was getting the opportunity to do what she wanted to do in life. |
